Powerhouse Arts is a not-for-profit organization and multi-purpose facility in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Dedicated to fostering creative expression through artist support and community engagement, it offers subsidized fabrication spaces and services for NYC-based artists, including workshops, studios, and flexible venue rental opportunities for exhibitions, performances, and other community events.
Yale Stone supported in the animation of this endeavor by contributing to the projection and installation of the facility’s multiple restrooms. The project highlights Yale’s technical proficiency in executing projects of non-residential designation. It also demonstrates Yale’s ability to work dependably in historic structures, as the project required the retrofitting of a 119-year-old power plant.
