The Knickerbocker Hotel, originally designed in 1901 and opened in 1906, is a historic Beaux-Arts building located on the southeastern corner of Broadway and 42nd Street. During its storied existence, the hotel has hosted guests of renown including composer George M. Cohan, novelist F. Scott Fitzgerald, and tenor Enrico Caruso. The hotel was also the birthplace of New York City’s most iconic cocktail, created by Martini di Arma di Taggia while bartending for John D. Rockefeller in the early 1900s.

After many years of alternative use and disuse, the hotel was finally reopened to the public in 2015. Post-renovation suites feature custom-cut premium marble, reflecting thematic expressions of both artistic and historic significance. The selections blend traditional design and modern finishes, creating a private yet opulent aesthetic that features prominently throughout the hotel.

The Cohan Suite bathrooms contrast Morado Rosewood floors with honed Italian Cervaiole marble. The Martini Suite features marble countertops and vanities complemented by ash paneling and opaque etched glass. The Parrish Suite incorporates charcoal gray and green slate slabs, paired with premium Italian marble. The Caruso Suite is aptly adorned with deeply-veined Italian Breccia Capraia marble.

Since undergoing renovations, the hotel has been featured in Business Insider, CNN, Fodor’s, and more.
